How to use USB flash to transfer embroidery designs?

    Flash card requirements:
Flash card with designs must be formatted. The optimal size of a flash card is up to 4 GB. It should not contain any extraneous files: documents, photos, movies, music.

    Create a design folder:
You insert a formatted flash card into a turned off machine. Then turn it on and wait for the download process. The machine creates a folder on the EmbF5 card (the name may vary slightly). Also, in some cases, depending on the class of the car, a MyDesign folder can be created. Then take out the card.

    Transferring design:
You transfer the design to the card either by simple copying or using special software (Digitizer MBX). In this case, the design must match the size of the hoop on which you are embroidering. If it extends beyond the hoop, the machine will not open it. In this case, the design should be divided into several separate ones using special software.

Why does the machine have an uneven straight stitch?

in the car with horizontal shuttle and in machines with a vertical oscillating hook, the stitches in the straight stitch lie slightly at an angle. This is the norm and is due to the structure of the shuttle. The main thing is that the stitches are uniform, and not walk from side to side.

How to determine the year of manufacture by the serial number?

The first digit on the left is the last digit of the year of manufacture. For example, if your sewing machine was manufactured in 2007, then the first digit will be 7. And if in 2014, then the last digit will be 4.

The second number from the left is the quarter in which the model was produced. 1 - production month from January to March, 2 - from April to June, 3 - from July to September, 4 - from October to December.

Other figures refer to the manufacturer's general information.

Dear seamstresses, good afternoon!!! I really need your help or advice on what to do.

For a long time I dreamed of buying myself a modern sewing machine, I chose for a long time, looked through a lot of reviews and settled on Janome machines. Very much satisfied with them. A week ago I bought myself a beautiful Janome top 14. Of those offered by the seller, it was she who attracted me. I wanted without unnecessary functions (15 lines are enough for me), easy to use, reliable and not computerized, because I sew from time to time solely for my own pleasure.

When I was choosing a machine in the store, the seller checked it with me, everything worked, but to “test”, that is, to see how it sews on fabric, did not allow me to try the quality of the lines on it, said that they do not practice it. Since this store had the most reasonable prices in the city and the largest selection of sewing machines from this company, I decided to take it. At home, she began to test her beauty, figure out how it works and what functions it has, and was saddened - she could not adjust the tension of the lower thread

What I just didn’t do, and changed the tension of the upper thread, and checked the position of the bobbin, and twisted the carnation in the bobbin holder (or whatever this thing is called, where the bobbin is inserted), and tried different fabrics, and wound the thread from one spool, and from different ones, contrasting in color, but of the same number, so that you could see where and how it pulls - nothing worked. The uneven tension on the seams with a zigzag is especially noticeable. Of course, I’m not a professional, but since childhood, my aunt, and my mother and grandmothers, taught me to determine where the “correct” thread tension in the lines is, where it is “wrong”, and how to adjust it. I tried all the methods that I knew and that were recommended to me - it did not work.

Yesterday I came to the store with a typewriter, explained the problem, unlocked for a long time, saying that I inserted the bobbin the wrong way, I used the wrong needle (and what else should I use if not the one that the manufacturer inserted? All 4 needles are 90/14), and in general, not I sewed on that fabric. I took everything with me, both threads and different fabrics (jeans, linen), and poked the sellers nose into the instructions that for this needle number these fabrics were recommended by the manufacturer, and in front of their eyes I sewed several different lines to show what exactly to me I do not like the line and how the machine sews. We agreed to carry out the same operations on a model that is much more expensive and is considered semi-professional (I don’t remember its number). The machine gave the same result.
I didn’t change my machine, I didn’t return it for now either, I decided to “spend the night” with the thought of what to do next and consult with you, maybe I didn’t check it and use it the wrong way? maybe there are some "military" tricks that I don't know about? Does it make sense for me to look for a master who would set up a new machine for me?
Please help me figure it out!!!

Here are a few questions that popped into my head in connection with my purchase.
    1. Should I only use the recommended thread on Janome machines? (for example, they are recommended in instructions No. 50-60, but I took No. 45) And is it possible that because of a different thread number I cannot adjust the thread tension (threads of the same number were threaded into the machine)?
    2. Can the thread tension be affected by the density of the fabric, its type or the needle of the wrong number? For example, the line is considered "knitted", but I did it on jeans?
    3. Is it true that not all stitches can be sewn on all types of fabric, and then how to determine which stitch is suitable for which fabric? I thought that on a thin jeans folded in half (we sew at least twice), when sewing with a needle and thread recommended by the manufacturer in the instructions, all stitches should be of high quality, even those called "knitted".

A colleague who understands more typewriters than mine recommends returning my beauty to the store and buying it in another, but I'm afraid that history may repeat itself, maybe it's not about the typewriter and there are features of sewing on typewriters of this company or on typewriters of the class "for beginners".

PS. I have been sewing on sewing machines since childhood (as far as I can remember), there were old manual ones, Singer, 1912, "Seagull", which is with a bedside table. On all machines, I successfully adjusted the thread tension on my own.

Dear girls, thank you all for your advice!
My car saga continues. My husband and I took the car to the shop today. They did not return the money, they said that they could exchange it for any other one or take it for tuning by the master at their expense. Agreed to have their experts set up. I wrote in my own hand that I was not satisfied. They said they would deliver by next Saturday. Will wait.
I am adding a photo of the lines that I got.

The yellow thread on the zigzag is the bottom thread, and the red one that sticks out is the top thread. Fabric - jeans in 2 layers. The lines in all modes of adjusting the upper thread are about the same. You can see a white dotted zag-zag line (I don’t know what it’s called correctly) - its wrong side, where you can see that when doing this line, the thread pulls even more, especially if I reduce the step.

These are the lines that I already did in the store in the presence of the seller and which were rated as normal. maybe I'm wrong and this line is really the norm?
I'll see how the Voronezh specialists will set up the machine for me. It is there that the seller must take the machine for tuning.

PS. I have a control plan - to go to the atelier one of these days and ask the dressmakers to sew a straight line and a zig-zag with contrasting threads on the same piece of fabric, which should be exemplary, in order to show these lines to the seller if the machine is not set up as expected and get the same return money or a quality machine, even after 2 weeks, because I brought the machine back on time.

But for your entertainment, a post about how I saved money))) maybe an idea will come in handy for someone and help you save up for need-needlework
